Musharraf hints at return to Pakistan politics

LONDON (AFP) – Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf hinted at a return to politics in his homeland on Monday, saying he would “do anything for Pakistan” but the voters there must decide.
“I love my country and I would do anything for Pakistan,” the retired general, who was replaced last year in elections after nine years as president, told a meeting at the Chatham House think-tank in London.
He added: “For Pakistan one would be prepared to do anything. However, it is for the people of Pakistan who need to decide.”
Musharraf joked that, “I’m a civilian now, I’m not a military man, I cannot take over anything,” a reference to his seizure of power, while army chief, from elected prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999.
“I have to come through the political process, through the process of elections. But I think it’s very good — it’s very good because I think I will have that legitimacy which I never had,” he said.
Musharraf did not say if he has decided to return to Pakistan to face trial over his 2007 detention of judges as he attempted to cling to power.
He had imposed a state of emergency and sacked about 60 judges on November 3, 2007 when the Supreme Court appeared poised to declare him ineligible to contest a presidential election while in military uniform.

Poor people of punjab are hostage of hawkish thought plied by few so called masses leaders infact would be better called them regional learders.Serious qu…estion arising whether & how you will won the heart & soul of punjab people? There are no room for moderate, straight forward person in pakistan politics. Pakistan already hacked by segmented elements. Who would purchase your idea. Very few people of pakistan society will only welcome you.Unless other wise some kind of miracle happen here
In My personal opanion the only way left to win heart & soul for entire pakistan is poverty, dearness,every escalating price for daily use commodities made people of pakistan mad but poor frietened masses has no real spokesman to represent in real. All efforts so far so good being initiated only on media or for media fame.not a single political regional parties(Worthless to tell some parties to national parties-Infact by they way they are running affairs can be called private parties). People of pakistan has no base in thier own parties. they are being used as a tools. People are so hopeless that they are sustaining the all wrong doings -not daring to withstand agsisnt of thier legal rights. You can give them hope of ray . no doubt it is quite stern job to drag people on the open for thier rights change the course definately.This is the lone way to represent people take solid stand on poverty-price hiking.this the core issue of comman people of pakistan.some kind of agitation may be started some dharna’s some bhook hartalls etc to draw & join people with you.

when ever i start discussing with people about you, mostly i have to defend you on the following issues,
1- Lal Masjid Operation
2- Judges Matter
3- Abdul Qadeer Khan
4- NRO
i defend you on these matter as i think or according to my information which i derived from media and other sources.
I personnally welcome you in pakistan, but you will not benefit Pakistan if you don’t have much supporters.
so, briefly speaking you should address these issues through media to general public, internet is not usefull for general public. I think you have to make a platform of those people in pakistan which are public ICON not necessarily they should be in politics, because an ordinary man will not trust on those people who are you are sincerefriends like Mr. Saif, Mr. Sher afghan, Mr. Rashid qureshi.
but this does not mean you should put them on back stage position because all credit of any achievments goes to these friends.
But what i want to say, a Mixed platform e.g. some political person of other party, some lawyers, some beurucrats, some industrialist / jaghirdar, some nationalist activists.
Than convey and publish your intention and facts of decision making regarding above mentioned four matters.
but must contact Mr. Abdul Qadeer khan and Mr. Iftikhar choudhary personally and confidentially , and discuss with them that they are still respectful in your eyes. and clearly tell them facts and if there is any mistake from your side than accept it.
